About the PEI Provincial Nominee Program
The PEI PNP lets the province select and nominate qualified foreign nationals to live and work permanently in Prince Edward Island. Successful nominees apply to IRCC for permanent residence. The program is organized into two broad categories.
Labour Impact Category
- Express Entry — for candidates with an active federal Express Entry profile who meet PEI’s labour market needs
- Critical Worker Stream — for foreign nationals already employed in PEI in high-skilled occupations (full-time, non-seasonal, TEER 0–3), with at least 2 years of related experience in the last 5
- International Graduate Stream — for graduates of a recognized PEI university or college, aged 21–55, with a valid post-graduate work permit
Business Impact Category
- 100% Ownership Stream — full ownership of a new or existing PEI business
- Partial Ownership Stream — at least one-third ownership, or a minimum $1,000,000 CAD equity investment
- Work Permit Stream — a work-first pathway toward eventual nomination
What to Know
PEI issues periodic Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) through provincial draws throughout the year, and international graduates of UPEI, Holland College, and Collège de l’Île receive priority in draws targeting in-demand occupations (healthcare, trades, manufacturing). PEI also participates in the Atlantic Immigration Program.
