About the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program
The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), launched in 1998, is the province’s pathway to nominate skilled workers, international graduates, temporary residents already in Saskatchewan, and entrepreneurs for Canadian permanent residence. Saskatchewan has a reputation as one of the more accessible PNPs, with roughly 7 in 10 newcomers to the province arriving through the SINP.
The Three SINP Categories
International Skilled Worker
For overseas candidates, including an enhanced Saskatchewan Express Entry sub-category (aligned with the federal Express Entry system) and base sub-categories for those with a qualifying job offer or occupation on Saskatchewan’s In-Demand Occupation List.
Saskatchewan Experience
For temporary foreign workers, international graduates, and long-haul truck drivers already working or studying in Saskatchewan, including:
- Existing Work Permit sub-category — 6+ months working in Saskatchewan in an NOC 0/A-level role or designated trade
- Students sub-category — graduates of a recognized post-secondary institution with qualifying Saskatchewan work experience
- Long Haul Truck Drivers sub-category — 6+ months with an approved Saskatchewan trucking firm
Entrepreneur & Farm
For business owners establishing or purchasing a business in Saskatchewan, and for experienced farm operators — including a distinct points grid and, for entrepreneurs in Regina or Saskatoon, a requirement to create at least two full-time jobs for Canadians or permanent residents.
Expression of Interest (EOI) & Points Grid
The Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand sub-categories use an Expression of Interest system. You register an EOI profile and are scored against a 110-point grid covering:
- Education and training
- Skilled work experience
- Language ability
- Age
- Connections to the Saskatchewan labour market and adaptability
A minimum score of 60 out of 110 is required to enter the EOI pool. Candidates who clear that bar may receive an invitation to apply during a draw.
